We were contacted by GMAC a year ago because we qualified for the first round of Fannie Mae refinancing. Turns out because we were current, didn't have $16000! in the bank and my husband made too much money ($64000 for our family of 5), we didn't qualify. We received another letter this week about this HASP loan that we qualify for. Now they are telling us we don't qualify because our loan isn't Fannie Mae. They MUST have sold it off in the past year as we KNOW our original loan was a Fannie Mae loan. We decided before all this fiasco happened that we would NEVER work with them again because of the hassle we had to go through with our appraisal. Besides lots of minor things, they wouldn't do our appraisal until we removed some tires that were on our property left from the previous owner and they didn't give us any credit for our inground pool because it was green (we turn off the pump to save energy after the 80's disappear and our appraisal was the end of Oct)

I have tried fot the loan modification program... filled out all the paperwork .... was turned down do to insufficiant income.... I thought that is what the program was there for... I called my mortgagge company to see what programs they may have... I can not qualify for any programs until I am at least 2 months behind on my house payment. That just seems so wrong that you have to be drowning before a person can get help... What ever happened to plain old prevention ?

I'M NOT BEHIND JUST SHORT. I HAVE A HOME EQUITY LOAN WITH CITIFINANCIAL BANK FOR 150,000.00 AS OF SEPT. 2008. (1 YEAR) NOW RETIRED WITH PENSION AND SOC. SEC. I AM 20,000.00 SHORT OF WHAT I WAS MAKING WHILE AT WORK. MY WIFE IS A TEMP WORKER WITH AN AGENCY, BUT AN UNEXPECTED KNEE AND WRIST SURGERY IS NEEDED FOR HER. ALSO, I HAVE TO PAY 964.00 A MONTH FOR COBRA HEALTH INSURANCE. I FILLED OUT APPLICATIONS FOR PART TIME ALSO. ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

All I need is my interest rate lowered, my income has gone down and I have been fighting a battle with cancer for the last year. MY mortgage is with Taylor Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp.Ocala Fl. I can't get help, please can anyone help. It seems like everything we have heard about Pres. Obama helping, people that are in trouble before we are unable to make mortgage payments is just one big lie.

I have lost 2 good paying jobs from Sept 07 and then again in Mar 08. I currently am making less than 15000 a year, working as a schoolbus driver and have a mortgage of $977 mo. which is over half of what I bring home. My 82 yo father lives with me(multiple medical problems) and a daughter who is in college(Jr yr). My mortgage is with WaMu(Chase). Do I stand a chance of modification to my loan with a bad credit score?
